Update to 2023.2 deletes all manually created Directories and Files

Now I need to recreate everything. YOU HEAR: EVERYTHING!!!!!

This greatly depends on where you placed the files.

If you place custom folders and files in MCreator package, they will be deleted, as this is by the design of the system.

You need to place them in some other place, for example some package that does not share root with MCreator's package.

 

I would also in general suggest trying snapshots and making backups, this way you 

  1. Make backups so you don't loose files
  2. Test things before full release so surprised don't happen

Well you could make a notification that says that custom folders etc. are existing. Pls make a Backup before you proceed.

Where you can cancel or not.

The package you have set in "Wokrspace settings", it is enough that is is one level upper,

eg you set: a.b.c

you can place custom files in a.b or a.b.d, for example
