Help with head texture bug (3d armor)

Hello,

I am trying to make a simple mod (version 1.16.5) to play with a friend, based on a tokusatsu show I used to watch when I was younger. However, I am having an issue with the armor, specifically the headpiece.

I created the models and the texture and imported them into MCreator 2021.3. But when I enter the game and equip the armor, the headpiece has a weird bug where the texture creates a layer like the overlay of the skin around the head. Does anyone have an idea how to help with this?

I have no experience with mod creation or programming, I’m just trying to create a mod for fun with new items and mobs.
