How to make Beehive-like block

hello, recently I created a living entity to my mod, and i wanted it to have a block that behaves like a beehive just with a different texture, in with my entity could hide like bees. I also wanted my entity to hide when its day and come out when its night. And i cant figure out, how can i make this beehive like block for custom entity. can someone help me out? i would be very happy
