How to make a growable crop like wheat?

Pretty simple question, but could not find anything on youtube/google. How do i make a growable crop in MCreator 1.7.9? Something that goes from stage 1, 2, and 3 like wheat.

I'm trying to make a pepper plant, didn't think it would be so hard. (Or maybe i'm dumb?)

please help!
