How to change the Plant Model
Mon, 12/16/2019 - 23:50 (edited)

in the current version of MCreator 1.9.1 it is not possible to change the Plants model from the Plant edit menu

Custom Plant

but if there is a way, and it is from the Model JSON file.

In the quadrant 2 of the JSON is the Plant Block model

JSON Plant Model Location

From there you can change the Base Model of Plants which is the Cross Model

Many mod creators need other models to make different types of plants such as crops.

Original Model

is changed in the Parents Section
by the name of a block with a custom model that you have already imported.

Model Custom

Each stage of my personalized crop has the same name only that they are sorted by number for each stage

The only bad thing is that every time you modify and save the plant element the model restarts to Cross Model and you have to rename again.

Comparison

While the Custom Crop is well positioned in the Farmland the cross model is floating and that is why they should add to change models for Plants to create crops and Other things with different models, in my case use the Minecraft Wheat with other textures.

I hope you add this option soon as they did with the blocks, and I hope it worked for you.
