If you use BlockBench, you can create a texture and then save and change this texture. can I use a vinilla mob texture?
You can use a vanilla texture as long as you remap the UV mappings to be correct in block bench (and possibly modify it a bit to make it all fit). I'd suggest watching some tutorials to understand what I mean better, as you will need some basic understanding to do this.
