Miner's Utilities
This mod adds some tools and armor for mining-related purposes.
Mining Armor
Mining armor is a two-piece armor set that has the defense of about leather armor and the durability of gold, with both pieces having their own extra benefits.
The mining helmet gives you night vision while you hold Z, however, it has a limited amount of time (about 5 minutes) before its depleted and needs to be recharged again before using night vision again. A mining helmet is recharged by simply combining it with a single piece of redstone in your crafting menu, or a crafting table. The recipe is as follows:
The mining vest (chestplate equivalent) doesn't seem to do much at first, but when you go to the level where diamonds spawn naturally (below Y level 16), you get resistance IV, which makes it a great and cheap choice for pre-diamond armor caving/mining if you're scared of fall damage, suffocation, mobs, or ways to die deep underground. The recipe is as follows:
Furnaxes
Obviously with a mining related mod I had to add an auto smelting pickaxe. This is where furnaxes come in. Furnaxes drop smelted versions of ores that need to be smelted to get their normal form, and drops XP too when you mine a smeltable ore with it. It also does this instantly, which makes it even better than a normal furnace or even blast furnace.
The basic furnaxe, at an iron level, can automatically smelt ores up to iron ore and has about double the durability of a normal iron pickaxe. The recipe, fairly expensive, is as follows:
(You get the buckets back from the lava buckets if you make this)
The diamond furnaxe is at a diamond level, which means it mines more quickly, and can smelt ancient debris on top of everything the normal furnaxe can. It also has 2,000 durability, which is double the durability of a normal furnaxe. The (very expensive) recipe is as follows:
The Oreseeker
The Oreseeker is an item currently unobtainable in survival mode, so you will need to get it from the creative inventory. When you hold it in either your main hand or off hand, it makes stone or deepslate within a 5-block-radius see-through by only showing a wireframe of the block, and allowing you to see through the center of it like glass. This lets you see where some ores are that would otherwise be hidden by the stone or deepslate around you.
This is it currently for the mod, however, that doesn't mean I won't add anything in future updates! Let me know what you think in the comments and what I should add
