Make a sound play once during a looped action

I'm trying to make an armor set that gives the wearer resistance and slowness when crouching. I've already programmed the effects and they work perfectly; However, I also wanted a sound to play when the player starts crouching once. I can't figure it out and most of the time the sound repeats over and over again. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. Thanks!
