System requirements

MCreator requires at least these specifications of the computer in order to work without crashes, glitches, or unusual bugs. For example, when the user tests the mod, the Minecraft test client, Gradle build process and the MCreator itself are running simultaneously, which requires some computing resources to work smoothly.

Recommended device specifications:

  • Windows 10+ or Linux Ubuntu/Debian with GTK3+ or MacOS 12+
  • 64-bit architecture and operating system
  • 8GB RAM
  • 4 core (or more) CPU Intel/AMD
  • 2 GB (or more) of free storage
  • Reliable internet connection

Minimal device specifications:

  • Windows 7+ or Linux (>2.6 kernels) Ubuntu/Debian/ with GTK3+ or MacOS 11+
  • 64-bit architecture and operating system
  • 4GB or more of RAM (2GB is enough for data pack and add-on maker, but not for Java-based mods)
  • 2 core CPU Intel/AMD
  • 1 GB of free storage
  • Internet connection

Linux distributions

Because there are so many different Linux distributions and desktop environments out there, we may not be able to support all combinations. We officially test MCreator on a fresh install of the latest LTS distribution of Ubuntu Desktop at the time of the release. We can not guarantee operation or any official support to get MCreator to run on other Linux distributions or non-standard configurations of Ubuntu Desktop LTS.
