Passwords and Account issues on startup

I had a similar issue as someone else here.  How can I activate my account after it has been blocked during creation?  I think I tried to log in before following the link through the email. I cannot log in now and when I try to create a new account it says the email already exists, and when I go to recovery it says the account is not activated. Am I blocked from activating? is there a way to correct this? please and thank you
