Howdy ! I wanted to confirm if it was impossible indeed to make a custom crafting table, exemple : 5x5x5 is possible, but the second thing i need is that you would have to stack several items for a custom craft. [Exemple : 64 diamonds + 24 gold ingots + 46 torch + 51 stone = custom item]
Like i said, in my opinion, i'm fairly certain we can't do this, but i thought i wouldn't loose anything to ask here.
I don't know about on a crafting table, you could certainly do this on a custom GUI, block and a couple procedures
