Check your anchors, make sure armor does not touch player model, and check the range of the texture maps you use

mappings are where your textures are, if you are using blockbench you can see the mappings, and also there is a certain area that needs to be avoided in your textures so they do not overlap with the players texture, I suggest getting a player skin and pasteing it in your texture dont save of course but use it as a indicator of where to avoid.
