The 3rd snapshot of 2021.2 update is here

The third snapshot of MCreator 2021.2 is here. This snapshot adds some quite notable new features, including specific overlay targets, potions split to item and effect, and much more.

Alongside to features mentioned before, some other notable changes are two new themes from the theme contest, fishing rod tool type, improved style of generated code, custom dispense behaviors for item mod elements, and tons of new procedures.

Pre-release?

As you might have noticed, this is the third release but is not called pre-release. This is because we will be doing a fourth snapshot this time which will be the pre-release. The reason for this is due to so many new features this snapshot adds, so we can do some more testing before releasing the full release, so make sure to install this snapshot and test it out as much as possible.

Make sure to tell us what you think about the update in the comments, test out the snapshot, and report bugs in the snapshot.

Snapshot patch

Due to two major bugs preventing users from testing the snapshot out, we are re-releasing it. To update, download and install the latest snapshot from the snapshot downloads pages. This will fix these two bugs:

  • [Bugfix] In some rare cases, some mod elements could get deleted during workspace import

5. New blocks to ai, I have quite a few so here is a list:
-Find and Follow entities of type [entity type]
-If Adult, become [entity]
-Trample Crops
-Destroy Turtle Eggs
-If in [dimension], become [entity]
-Scare [entity] (this could be used to get villagers to run away from a custom zombie)
6. Add a new plant type; Cactus (Would look, and function like a cactus.)
7. Allow entities to do custom damage (Like, for an infection mod, make an infected do death.attack.infect)
8. Add a procedure that would show recipes that the provided item is used in (this could be used to help make a custom recipe book)
aaaand thats all! Hope some of these get added, I feel like many people would find them useful.

I have a few ideas (this is adding to my previous comment)

1. Make it so you can add potion items to recipes
2. Make it where you can add icons of items to GUIs (kinda like the villager GUI)
3. Make a procedure to change walk speed for the player, and one to change jump power
4. Make a procedure that allows you to change to a player's client (this could use event/target entity and/or source entity, and would result in an error if the entity provided is not a player). This could be used to more easily change a player's variable.

For 2) you can just find item icon on Internet (Minecraft wiki or sth) and manually add to mod's textures, then use them on "add image for GUI". I used that for my ormath trading and it works well.
As for 3), I'm pretty sure there was plug-in allowing for similar things, but not sure if it's still up-to-date

I dont know if this is planned, but I have an idea. (If this doesn't exist already) Make it so potions appear in the brewing recipe maker, I was making a zombie mod and added a cure, but couldn't make a recipe for it.

What is with Forge 1.17? When we could expect the update?

I've been having a problem with this snapshot, minecraft client crashes when using my mod. From what I can tell from the log it's something involving the loading screen

I don't know whether this is considered a bug and whether this was fixed already, but when using the leaf block base the leaf would either not break quicker with shears or not with a hoe, whilst default shears are in fact broken immediately by those.

I couldn't get this fixed whilst using the blockbase either, so I ended up not using the blockbase and doing the stuff manually.

please add a procedure block to know the state of growth of a plant I need it, otherwise great update, apart from the problem of gradle

if there any chances to solve sync client-server errors in entity nbt tags pls?

In the next snapshot, if possible, could you add that you can create your own poster? And also add AI examples when creating a mob such as: Phantoms, Snow Golems, Pillagers, Bees, Piglins, Hoglins, etc. If you can clear this. And a question, will the final version have support for 1.17?

Will they take a snapshot to fix the gradle caches problem? , I hope so, since there is an important mod that got corrupted and although I did not update it for the moment, it makes me sad to know that I will not be able to go back in there :(
