Actually you can add block "for each entity iterator in range you want" then add a potion effect you like to make a sort of distant attack, for example instant damage

Well I dont see any other options than using what woodcreatures said, or using some kind of invisible entity like a penetrating bullet. (good ol' armor stand magic) Either those, or coding might be required.
