I am working on making a custom tree and got everything working except for the leaves. Leaves normally are somewhat see-through, however, the gaps in my are filled in with black. I am using the newest version of Mcreator (2020.5), any help that I can get would be greatly appreciated.
Here is an image of the leaves

We can not see images you link to your computer.
I am also having this problem. I am hoping we both get an answer :/
I figured it out! Here's the solution:
Set the block base to leaves, and launch minecraft. Ingame, go to video settings, then to graphics and set it to "fancy". This should make the black textures appear transparent again.
Also, as an additional piece of advice, if you want the leaves to act exactly like vanilla leaves, go to the properties of your block, and under "Light Opacity", set it to 0. This should make the black textures disappear which, if you had tried before this, would've been at the sides of the leaves, acting like a solid block.
Hope this helps you out! ^^
This is also a comment for people looking for solutions, so that they don't have to keep searching.
