so i made this mob called chocolate pig and i put it in my new candy land and it keeps on spawning a ton and i have it at 20 spawn and it should only spawn 1 in per group i cant figure out what is happening

Lowering the max spawn in a group does help a lot.
20 spawn probability is also normal and should make them uncommon but not rare.
i did that and it still makes it spawn like crazy
the same thing, superpacket from them even freezes the game, because their appears millions
i wonder if this is a bug
i did a little testing and it spawns normally when not put in one biome
when i
after playing with the settings spawn probability and putting spawn as a Creature, they stopped spawn as crazy billions, try it too
ok
Another bit of information with how minecraft works:
The smaller your spawn group the higher the chance the entity will also spawn
Your spawn weight may be 20, however, because it spawns 1 per group, it will spawn more frequently
Spawn weight and Number per group do effect each other. If you spawn 4 per group, it will spawn similar to that of cows, sheep, pigs, etc. as they all spawn in groups of 3-6 or somewhere in that range.
Another issue is that if your pig is the only animal that spawns in this biome, then it will spawn every time an animal is set to spawn.
Normal animal spawn weight is 8-12
