Since 1.18 the generation of biomes has changed and for this reason MCreator also had to adapt, by doing this MCreator removed support for versions prior to 1.18. With this tutorial I will show you how to export the version of MCreator that will add the old biome properties (this means that MCreator will not be compatible with versions higher than 1.18).
Current Version: 2025.3
FAQ:
Why don't you send us the .exe/.zip file directly?
It isn't permitted to release unofficial versions of MCreator
Tutorial:
1. Download the workspace here
-> Click Code
-> Download Zip
2. Extract the zip
3. Download IntelliJ IDEA here
4. Open IntelliJ IDEA
-> Click Open
-> Select the folder you previously extracted, make sure you are in the same "location" (folder) where you first saw on github
5. Click Setup JDK
-> Click Download JDK
-> Select Version 21
-> Click Download
6. Click Gradle (right)
-> MCreator -> Tasks -> Export
-> Now click either "Export Windows" or "Export Linux" or "Export Mac" based on the operating system you have
7. Wait for the process to complete until you see a check mark in the run section
8. Close IntelliJ IDEA and go to your project files
-> go to build -> export
9. Depending on you (.exe or .zip), install MCreator (you can also install it in a different folder so you have more than one on your computer)
Congratulations, now you can use the plugin that supports the old generation of biomes without errors!
Thank you for the guide! And I have a question. Do you support your great plugin 1.12.2 for 2021.1?
No, because as you said the plugin supports 2021.1, you need a working Forge 1.12.2 generator for this
Hello, _Spectrall.
I would like to let you know that I have created an application that allows me to port plugins/generators to other versions of MCreator. I saw that you have a couple of plugins that do not have support for older versions, with some missing the latest version (2025.3). I was wondering if you would like me to port them for you to use.
I don't want to sell you anything; it would be completely free. They would require testing to make sure that they work, but on the ones I have tested they have worked perfectly. Please let me know if you are interested, and I can send you my details! I have also sent this to multiple other plugin/generator creators.
Cheers,
Charlie214
@Charlie214 Hello! Can you share this application with us? (I'm making a 1.12 mod, but I'd appreciate the features of later versions)

this one would also be appreciated by me for 2021.1 + 1.12.2, though not as big of an issue to me as bringing his 1.12 generator forwards
