Help with amounts/variables?

Hello, and thank you in advance. I'm new to this software and, whenever I go to create a block, item, mob etc, there's a bunch of inputs for amounts(i.e. hardness, resistance, light opacity, tick rate) that are never explained, and if I were to know what they mean, how to make them balanced and appropriate so the modification won't be OP or underpowered so as to break the game or be useless/too easy to kill.  There's the "?" button but it just redirects me to the forums and I haven't found anything useful in here. Is there any resource that explains these amounts and has said amounts for other mobs/blocks/items for reference? Thanks.

Resistance

Resistance is a block's resistance to explosions. If you want to know the resistance of a block, the best way is to go to Minecraft wiki.

Hardness

Higher is the hardness, more time you need to break a block (Again, be sure to check the wiki).

Opacity

Opacity is a value that goes from 0 to 255. Higher is the opacity, the more the block is transparent (I know it doesn't make much sense). Be sure to check transparency in the first block tab before changing opacity.

Tick rate

A tick is the basic unit of time in minecraft. It's 1/20 seconds, so a potion effect lasting 100 ticks lasts 5 seconds (100:20=4). The tick rate of a block is the time between tick events/procedures of the block.

I hope it helped
