MCreator is a big success in Minecraft's modding community. During the last 5 years of its existence, MCreator has changed a lot, ranging from adding various mod types and options to improve them by adding events, custom drops, emitting particles, shooting arrows and much more. As the MCreator developed, there have been many changes that changed the way MCreator worked and the way you interacted with it. Many of the things were inspired by you, the community.

Last month, we updated the website, the new home of MCreator and we did that for a reason. With that done, we are happy to announce you the plans for MCreator 2. It will come with a whole new user interface and fix many bugs that came with the current version. This version doesn't exist yet, so we want to give you the word, by allowing you to shape the new MCreator in the way you would like it to be.

This forum topic is for you to discuss developer's ideas and suggestions for the new MCreator 2. We are going to be taking the ideas on other forum topics and let you discuss them.

Notice: MCreator 2 is just a concept at this moment. There is no release date yet, nor release date timeframe.

fullscreen for what? For minecraft? Thats a bug with minecraft and not something the MCREATOR team can fix. If your talking about fullscreen for mcreator then I don't see why.

I have an idea. Could you guys please put the crafting back while creating a mod. I makes the workshop much more neat because there are so many things in my mod and having to recreate everything one by one was a lot of work.

I suggest the ability to create folders in the workspace to make it more neat so as you can sort stuff into different sections of youre mod like say youve got multiple dimensions you can sort them out so as its easier to find each element Also i would like it if mcreator 2 had the old feature where you could choose the blocks type like slabs stairs trap doors doors ect!!!

I'd like to see "shaped shapeless" recipes. For example an axe, it uses the same recipe but in 4 different positions in the crafting table. Right now you have to make 4 recipes if you want to accomplish this. It would be great to have an option to enable it.

For the most part, the event editor as it is now seems to be less of a hassle than it would be if they were all standalone mod elements. The only real problem with the event editor now, as I see it, is that once you've clicked "OK", the only way to make changes to that event is to delete it and start from scratch.

I have four suggestions for MCreator 2.0:

1) The ability to organize mod elements into folders. This would make development of mods with dozens or more elements far more efficient than it is now.

2) A checkbox in the item/block creation menus to hide the item/block in question so it won't ever show up in the Creative tabs or the Creative search menu.

3) I second FacelessPikachu's suggestion for a better schematic maker to enable use of blocks from our mods in schematics.

4) Pertains to M4ttix_'s suggestion for shareable workspaces, this could be easily achieved via Pastebin, probably regardless of Workspace size, and would make collaboration on mods actually viable using MCreator. GitHub could also work, though would be a lot harder to implement with no real benefit over Pastebin for what we would be using it for.

My suggestions for the next version:

-1 be able to choose the block tybe when creating a new block (staircase, slab) or even add a checkbox: "rotation of block on"
-2 Create double flowers (2 high block) with the option: plant.
-3 For plants, choose on which block it grows

 Mcreator 2 should have a potion/potion effects, particle, and enchantment editor. 

 

 Another Suggestion I have is for Mcreator 2 to have a special creation possibility, something only you guys could come up with, something unlike anything else

I know these things can be solved with a code but mcreactor is designed to help you create fashion without writing a code, right?

1)A graphical tool for determining the hitboxes, for example: the tool loads the model and the values can be used to change the hitbox size and everything will be shown in the preview.

2)custom animations for example: the tool loads the model and then the user adds the "bones" to the model and with them manipulates the model and creates animations which can then be called up some event, i.e. when the monster is to attack this mod, it detects and shows animations
