Complete Beginner 02 - Nier Mod Design

So I guess I'll be doing this as a series of sorts to keep track of everything. My question now; anyone willing to look at my mod plans? All feedback is welcome.

You may consider creating a custom dimension. I would make it the moon, or the bunker. Maybe even one for each?

  • Moon : A normal world like gen., with Endstone or an Endstone like material.
  • The Bunker : A End like gen., with no blocks(air) that spawns a custom structure when it loads.

Neither one of these dimensions should take long, as they are pretty basic. The longest part would be creating whatever custom blocks you feel are necessary for the Bunker.

Also if you need any advice on how to do anything, feel free to ask. I'll help with what I can.

Additionally, it would look cool if you retextured the moon in minecraft to have the face it does in NieR: Automata. I am not familiar to how it would be done, but I know that it is possible. Maybe ask Nuparu, he changed the moon on his 7 days mod.

Sorry for getting back on this later than usual. Busy with classes.

So far I've clocked in a dozen hours or so in the game and I'm just building a base, which is REALLY fun. So I wouldn't know about dimensions at this point.

Have you seen my game design document btw? All I have to do for this project is make some custom textures for Machine Lifeform, and then perhaps around with McCrayfish for weapon models and its textures too. Basically you kill the robots in this mod which appear in the realm by default and the materials they drop can be used for crafting NieR: Automata weapons. I've outlined further plans for when I reach that short term goal.

If you can I'd appreciate some help with mcreator? Would you like to teach me, or do you know any good tutorial videos for mcreator 1.8? I would appreciate that whole lot...

Another Idea - maybe make the NieR weapons only be craftable with a custom block?  If you run into any specific problems, or want to know how something can be accomplished, feel free to ask. I'll be on pretty often. I'll keep an eye out for anything else that will help.

Hey there. Hope you're still around.

So my mod idea has largely tanked. Too much work learning MCreator from the ground up on top of my other subjects.

I was wondering if you could help me with a bit of talk through. So if I can't make anything resembling my mod, then I'll just go for weapons. I've figured out how to put weapons in with basic parameters like damage & uses. But I want them to have recipes too, so that I don't have to go to creative mode to access them, and the tutor will actually play the game to get the weapons. But the recipes in MCreator 1.8 are their own element now, & I have no idea how to connect them to the weapons.

 

Could you outline the steps for me? Also is there a way I can change the swing speed/cooldown of weapon swings?
