yea these are some good ideas but are not so original because most of the mods on the mcreator website feature these ideas :/
try to make an item set like my titanium set in my mod (Fred's Pack 2) , i usually do some research before making an item set and watch some images so i can make it as good and realistic as possible.
In addition i also take reference from minecraft vanilla items so it is good balanced.
you can search on google "hardest metals/minerals" if you don't know what to use.
This is only my suggestion , you can do what you want.
yes but i seen his mod it isn't very scientific so maybe not
But he make a new mod.

I am creating a mod right now and im focusing on Furnitures and custom things like custom ores and dimensions. I have created Tables and a whole new dimension with a custom ore in it that are named Vinsytum.
You can make a monster who can try to kill you in spawning when hited Silverfish, maybe a Silverman.
Mod about making custom creatures by modifying their dna.
