Official SuperThingsMod Story Forum
Sun, 10/20/2019 - 13:29 (edited)

It was august 2018. I was looking for a way to make mods and this is how I found Mcreator. I knew little about coding so I had to watch tutorials frequently.

Then I decided to make my very first mod. The SuperThingsMod.

It wasn't supposed to be a serious mod at the time and I had no intention on updating it. However in the first version I published, there were only the Super Sword, the Super Apple, the Super Oil, the Super Gem Ore and the Super gem. "Man" I thought, "this mod has less things than a simple ore mod does!". So I proceeded at adding the tools (of course), but this was a little bit difficult for me at the time (note that I was a complete noob at Mcreator), but I finally made it work.

Then the mod slowly made it's way to indev0.4.0, when many things were added ,like compressed super blocks and items, bricks, berries, staffs and spears. The last thing that was added in this version was the new Super Dimension, that had only Super Grass and Dirt and was horrible (let's be honest). At this point I had to take a break from modding for about 10 months.

After that long break, I finally decided to return to Mcreator, but there was one problem. My work was gone, so I had to start from scratch. At least, the textures were intact. After a few hours, not only the mod workspace had been revived, but more things were added, such as Super stone, super stone bricks and variants, super gold ore, ingots and nuggets, super oranges. Trees were also added, along with super wood, super planks and super sticks. Super ore was removed from the overworld and Portals were added and they generated in cold biomes, such as mountains or ice plains. A lot of the textures were improved.

The mod actually made it to indev0.5.0. And just where I was planning to add more stuff, my workspace got corrupt, so I had to start from scratch...again. This corruption occured many times, but the mod made it to indev0.6.0, where finally new biomes were added and the mod's main "evil guys appeared". Unfortunately, my computer was old and needed repair at the time. After I found out that I couldn't repair it, I bought a new one, but this was quite a long process. Few weeks later I asked the ones who download my mods to suggest new features for future versions (because I know that will most likely never happen)! On 20/10/2019 I made Trailer about the Indev0.6.0 version! I currently don't have much time available, so I won't be updating my mod soon (exept if requested)

This story will continue as the time passes! Keep modding!
