Forge and Fabric

As we know, 1.14.x modding is getting split between Forge and Fabric mods. Will MCreator be using one or the other for versions 1.14.x+ modding or perhaps even both?

We will most likely remain on Forge as Fabric does not support all the features one can make with Forge.

I think it would be better if it worked with both. (Maybe allow users to use certain features when creating Fabric or Forge mods)

I have a group of friends…

I have a group of friends who say Fabric is better than Forge because Fabric lets you make your own API, meanwhile Forge forces you to use its own API that has too many features, and making a core mod on Forge is frowned upon

Also on Fabric they said every mod is technically a core mod

The advantage of making your own API is that you can modify the base game in any way you want. Meanwhile on Forge you have to beg for them to add the feature you want into their API.

They said the main reason people are still on Forge is that "well all the mods i like are forge only" and I see a problem with that. Some mod makers could be lazy and not port their mods over to Fabric. This could cause the mod's fans to stay on Forge. Meanwhile, another mod maker thinks that since everyone is staying on Forge, they can just be lazy and not port their mod to Fabric. So adding support for Fabric could cause a lot of new mods on Fabric to be made. People wouldn't want to miss out so they would switch over, or at least use both. Since so many new people are using Fabric, the mod makers would have to port their mods to Fabric if they don't want to lose popularity.

Please tell me if there is also a fabric plugin for mcreator 2020.5 . Cause if I try to make one, it only works with the newest snapshot but not with the right version. Is there something that fixes this?
