I was super excited when MCreator 2023.3 dropped, so i downloaded it, installed it, but when I try to open it, I get a pop-up that says, "MCreator can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information".
Keep in mind that i just installed it 5 minutes ago, and i have never had this problem before.

Did you have an plugins installed before you updated it? I've had a similar issue but no error message came up, and I had to reinstall the version I had before, remove the plugins from the plugins folder, and then install the newest version again and it worked. I'd suggest giving it a try, but if that doesn't work I'm not sure what else would.
the last version i was using was the one that supported 1.19.2 and 1.19.4, but i cannot download it anymore
could you maybe send me the dmg file for it if you have it?

This is the version I believe you’re talking about, 2023.2, the last one before this recent major update
i tried installing 2023.3, but it didnt work, it just showed the same pop-up
i got it to work! i just needed to go into my security settings and click "open anyway"
Awesome glad you figured it out, I actually noticed that too this version has more security alerts than past versions.
