Help with custom models
Mon, 05/27/2019 - 14:44 (edited)

So I've created a few mobs, but I don't know how to create custom models. All models in the list say: 'Built-In', and none of them is what I'm looking for. I'm using MCreator 1.9.0, so I don't have the "TOOLS" in my screen, and also when I use the search, I didn't see the word 'Techne' once in the whole thing. I tried to download Techne from Planet MC but it didn't work in my computer ("This software is missing files, unable to install"). How do I create custom mob models? Will Techne help me, or I will not be able to upload things from techne to MCreator? What do I do?

Please do not ignore!

It's not out yet. There's a progress bar on this website which is about halfway done right now.

I think you could change the type of the file by renaming it. Just right click on the file, click rename, and change .tch to a file that is supported. This might not work though.

To @Creenel --

I'll admit Blockbench is hard at first but honestly it's your best bet. I've search for Techne for awhile now and the only versions I've found are full of bugs and really like to crash (and make you lose all your work). I recommend looking up some tutorials on YouTube to get you started, you'll realize it's a lot like Techne once you get the hang of it :) if anything I'd also be glad to help you figure out how to use Blockbench~

To @Jacob752 --

Changing file extensions can have extremely bad side effects on the file itself, I would never recommend doing this! I think even your computer should warn you about this ^^;

Either way it can corrupt the contents of the file if you're not careful, so it's best to export straight from the program your using with the correct extension!
