Need to find a good modeling software (that can also do animations).
Fri, 05/15/2020 - 18:50 (edited)

I need help finding a good modeling software that is also capable of doing animations so I can create better and more entities for my mod. (Mac)

I’ve already found a solution, but I’m leaving this up for future people.

I also use mac. Block bench…

I also use mac. Block bench is super duper easy to use. Within 1 hour you'll learn everything there's to know and it's really easy to combine a program like gimp and quickly import textures into BlockBench to check the result. UV mapping is a true ease as Block Bench can automatically generate a texture showing exactly where which side of the block is and there are in-app plug-ins that allow you to use vanilla base models as help (in the filter tab: Bedrock Entity Generator. Works for java as well)

I've not really used blockbench much but I know the feedback is good and it has a large user base. I personally use Cubik Studio and despite it not being free, is great for 3D models, especially using voxels. All of the custom models in my mods are made with Cubik.

Yeah, Blockbench is a good choice. Easy to use, very much cool options and the interface looks great! Animation options included :) I always used it for models.

Yeah Blockbench is really good to use but MCreator doesn’t support it’s custom animations. Only the default ones :(

Blockbench is what I use. Athough if you want your models legs to work properly you have to flip them over otherwise they float in the air when they move

FFG, I don’t have to do that for proper leg animation.

I fixed my blockbench leg problem. I recently discovered pivots which objects rotate around.
