Vanilla item and Block duplication

Let's say you wanted to make yourself wood specific crafting table, but you can't do that because you can't Implement every crafting table recipe, that would take too long. What if there was a feature where you could simply click new, click vanilla duplication, and then Scroll through the block and item list until you find the one you're looking for, in our case a crafting table. This would duplicate the crafting table with all its GUI and pre-existing things linked up from vanilla Minecraft but allow you to customize specific parts like the texture.
