Help with what and what isnt client sided

Hi, so im trying to create a GUI that is client sided, Optifine can do it, but im not sure if MCreator can. The GUI will just have some buttons that shows your coordinates etc. Im assuming Overlays are client sided so thats fine but its just GUIs im a bit confused about
