in 2025.1, on a 1.20.1 workspace, I tried making a ranged weapon that shoots a projectile, like a bow with charging time.
I can't send screenshots, but here's roughly what I did:
-Item 1, the "arrow" without any properties
-ranged projectile, uses arrow as required projectile. No other modifications from default
-Item 2, the "bow" with the following settings in advanced properties:
ranged item, shoots item 1's ranged projectile ,has "charges power based on time" enabled. Other than that, the "can use ranged item" and "When ranged tem shoots projectile" are set to default
when i try to use item 2, even with item 1 in inventory, in both survival and creative, it doesn't work. It just acts as if i right-clicked on something and does the "swing" animation, doesn't shoot a projectile or consume ammo.
is there something else i was supposed to do?
Edit: I've done a few tests; it seems that my weapon doesn't work no matter what I change. I tried making it ignore ammo, shoot arrows instead of custom projectile, and constantly shoot. I don't know if I did something wrong or if this bug is happening to everyone. I am on version 2025.1.13416 btw
