Introduction

Hello everyone, after years of the development I felt like sharing with you an alpha version of my mod: Snor's Chernobyl. This mod has been in development ever since I came across MCreator and I have worked on it ever since. Not necessarily at a high pace, but everything cumulating over a long time. Snor's Chernobyl is one of my biggest projects.

Snor's Chernobyl comes from the time where there where no new developments in the greatly admired S.T.A.L.K.E.R series. A desire to bring it to another game, to eventually play together with my friend Snor which enjoys the games a lot. Through multiple iterations I have ever since tried my best to replicate the authentic feeling of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games and want to recommend everyone to play those too, especially the new game.

The mod

Ah yes, the paragraph in which I bombard you all with the ubsurd ambition of this project. Here we go:

 

  • A whole new dimension based on the Zaton and Great swamps regions. The Cordon can be reached but has no content yet.
  • All guns from the stalker series, which can be modified, repaired and have all there respective ammo's.
  • Custom armors for all factions
  • Faction related NPC's, including traders and faction leaders
  • Mutants, not all yet but including: blind- pseudo and psydogs, rhodents, bloodsuckers, snorks, boars, flesh and chimera's
  • Different loot tiers and randomly generated loot
  • Anomoly's, working detectors and artifacts.
  • Radioactivity, with a geiger counter built-in to your character.
  • A music and sound system to approach the ambience of the original games.
  • A PDA, in which information is/ will be provided.
  • Custom blocks to add to the ambiance.
  • Custom locations, like the pumping station, clearsky base, old church, farmhouses, machineyards and soforth.. even the ranger station.
  • NPC's use the original voicelines from CoP
  • Bandit radio (RMB)

I think it is best you find out yourselfs what this all includes, but also what the mod is lacking. It is an alpha version so there is no playthrough guide, no information on how stuff works or how it should work. Expect sometimes things to not work as intented.

Some tips:

  • Artifacts can be picked up with RMB.
  • The keybind for reload is R.
  • The keybind for PDA is P, there you can also see your faction alignments.
  • Just check the keybinds.
  • You can interact with some NPC's by pressing RMB, depending on your alignment.
  • Overall just slam RMB on anything and pray it works.
  • The keycard can be used in a certain underground section......

 

Thanks for everyone who contributed in any way to this. It is a relief to just put this out into the world. I cannot promise updates will come soon, neither do I know if it will since my main focus is on my project of rebuilding LOTR in minecraft using the great LOTR mod by Mevans. Until that's finished, this alpha version might be the version.

Should anyone from GSC Game world see this and they do not like me using the original sound files; please leave a comment here, I will adjust the mod accordingly should it be needed.
