One must never underestimate the value of prudence. One wrong move can leave to a life of misery and pain. Moans echo from the Valley.
Lamentations of the Valley is a story mod that adds a new dimension, The Overgrowth. Inside this twisted yet beautiful world, strange monsters known as Thanoblooms roam at night. Sometimes they carry strange notes written long past, of an ancient war. There is much to be discovered.
To get to the overgrowth, buy an enchanted sprout from a cleric, and make a portal frame out of oak wood (the kind crafted with 4 logs.) Then ignite it with the sprout.
Biomes
- Lavender Canopy: This lush arbor features clustered, ginormous trees and is home to fierce Thanobloom Shamans.
- Vibrant Plains: The colorful savanna of The Overgrowth, this red plain is roamed by vicious Thanobloom Barbarians.
- Golden Pines: A peaceful forest of pine trees. No monsters spawn here, and you gain several beneficial potion effects while in it's boundaries.
Other Features
Overgrown: A new potion effect. You gain it upon entering The Overgrowth, and when it expires you die. It cures upon you leaving. Do NOT attempt to cure while in the overgrowth, as this leads to instant death. Lasts for 30 minutes by default. Don't stay too long, because neither beds nor respawn anchors can be used.
Fytonite: A new kind of ore. Cannot be mined, but Thanoblooms drop Fytonite nuggets, and 4 Fytonite nuggets can be crafted into an ingot.
Fytonite Sword: When an enemy is struck with this weapon, Their stamina is drained. The attacker gains swiftness, while the victim gains slowness.
Fytonite Armor: When full set is acquired, the duration of the overgrown effect is doubled (1 hour).
Thanobloom Staff: Sometimes dropped by Thanobloom Shamans. Slightly fragile but deals poison damage.
Journal Scraps: Rarely dropped by Thanoblooms. They hint at the origin of the dimensions and the thanoblooms. As of now, there are 4. Duplicates can be dropped. (More will be added as the mod develops.)
Thanobloom Shamans: Don't underestimate these guys! (I did, and I made this mod!). Upon seeing a target (you or a barbarian) They will turn invisible and swiftly attack, dealing poison damage.
Thanobloom Barbarians: Extremely weak health wise. Damage...not so much.
Expect some bugs in this mod. Do not expect to be able to discover all the lore in the Early Access version.
