Why you don't put an option for update MCreator directly in the softwate without uninstall previous version and install the newest version. You can make that for each Minecraft's Version (like 1.12., 1.10.2 etc.) and we have only one mcreator for one minecraft version
It will be more easy for everyone I think.

Ok, I understand, but it is already nice if we are able to download minor update directly in MCreator because I find that very complicated to unistall MCreator and re install it because I don't use a personal computer.

We have this already in our TODO list but currently is not possible yet. With 2.x.x changes this will become possible for minor updates, but major updates will still need manual download.
The progress bar was moved back because one major bug (regression) was found that was introduced from 1.8.2 to 1.8.3 and we need to fix it.
