A mod I made based on the Backrooms creepypasta. It's in a very early stage right now.

NOTES

  • This mod is in a very early stage right now so I'd recommend making a new world rather than using an existing one.
  • If you want to get to the Backrooms, the only way to do so is to die. When you respawn, there's a 5% chance that you'll respawn in the Backrooms.
  • If you'd like to test it and have commands, don't use /execute in. Rather, you should use the custom /level command followed by the number of the Level you want to go to, or else the Backrooms won't generate.

ISSUES

  • There's currently no way to get out. While this is lore-accurate, I'll probably add something later.
  • There are no entities yet, but I will add them eventually.
  • It generates using a weird method but I probably won't change that.
  • Sometimes the walls generate weirdly. I've tried a few things and haven't been able to fix it.
  • So far, the only levels are Level 0, Level 1, and Level 2. I'll most likely add more fairly soon.
  • If you use commands, you can access the blocks known as Room Placer, Wall Placer, and Z Wall Placer. These, especially in the case of Room Placer, are very destructive if placed in the Backrooms dimension.

Changelog

0.1:

  • Initial release.

0.2:

  • Added Stained Carpet, which occasionally generates in place of Moist Carpet
  • At the cost of some generation speed, wallpaper is now random per pillar instead of per wall
  • The top and bottom of the wallpaper blocks are now the same as the rest of their sides

0.3:

  • Added Level 1!
  • You can now get to Level 1 rarely by walking through a doorway on Level 0.
  • Level 1 has two biomes: Normal and Hallways.
  • Added Crates, which occasionally appear in Level 1.
  • Added Almond Water, which can generate inside of crates. It heals you when you drink it.
  • Added five other less important blocks: Concrete, Wet Concrete, Dirty Concrete, Black Doors, and a variation of Fluorescent Lamps for Level 1.
  • Added one other less important item: Empty Bottles, which you get after drinking Almond Water.

0.4:

  • Added Level 2!
  • You can now get to Level 2 rarely by walking through the hallways on Level 1.
  • Added Pipes, with a custom model by Hidden783.
  • Added two other less important blocks: Dark Red Bricks and Chipped Paint Walls.

Not 0.5 but something else:

  • As you might have noticed, I've not been updating this mod recently. Because of this, I changed the license to MIT and added the workspace file (the_backrooms.zip) to the downloads. Feel free to make your own mod using that. I still might update the mod again eventually, but don't expect that to happen very soon.

First off thanks for sharing the zip.
Secondly, is there any documentation you have made for the work environment / the mod itself?
More questions: what is 'NoclipBlock' for?

Why do you use 'Wallplacer' and 'ZWallplacer ? Why not just make each 'generator_room_1' structure unique? Is it just a lazy way to quickly have a lot of different room desings by just building 1x8 structures instead of 8x8 rooms?

Thanks

How would one make this layered?

Like, there's one level above another, with a chute connecting the two.

Hi! I would love to create a mod similar to Backrooms, but I can't do many things. So if you would be kind, could you send me your exported mod (not as a mod but as files with the ability to access it with Mcreator). I promise I won't use it by sending the same mod telling others it's mine. I just want to use it to create my mod (don't copy paste if anything).

Regards
JanProPL :)

Hello Is It Okay If Use The Base Workspace To Develop A 1.16.5 Version Of This With a Twist Of course. Been trying to figure out the infinite structure feature forever

hi uhh.. great mod and deinitely Cool but... its very uncool THAT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY IT
P.S i'm making a mod too!

Hey how do you generate the infinite structures as a dimension, cuz I'm planning to develop a Backrooms-Inspired mod of my own

Also are you accepting help on this mod? Cause about what I said I always wanted to work on something backrooms related as a mod for minecraft, but I don't think I have the time or motivation to completely code or create a mod from the ground up, as I already have plently of other projects at hand. I could work on stuff like items and entities as well as certain procedures including a possible working thirst and temperature system to increase immersion.

Hellfax, sorry I didn't see this, I don't check mcreator.net very often. I very much appreciate the offer, but I'm not gonna accept any help with this mod right now. However, I just uploaded the mod's workspace .zip file to the downloads in place of Version 0.1, so if you want to make your own Backrooms mod using mine as a base, go right ahead. :)
