The Archives

The Archives is a mod in beta testing that brings a new vast dimension to your Minecraft world. It currently includes one biome, one new mob, two new blocks, two new structures, and a new sea to explore.

Blocks & Fluids

Cobbled bedrock can be found all along the surface of the Archives. Unlike normal bedrock, it can be broken, but mining it takes double the time it takes to break obsidian. But don't jump or step on it, because it'll collapse under your weight.

Asphalt can be crafted with a bucket of tar, sand, and gravel. It's a pretty normal block, not much special about it.

Tar is a new fluid present in the oceans of the Archives. It can be picked up in a bucket and is very slow-moving. It's fully black, and is semi-transparent, though this transparency will hopefully be patched in the next update.

Structures

Maws of the Archives are uncommon structures that hold a GREAT prize. In them, you can find a deep pit, similar to a desert temple, filled with cobbled bedrock. Break the cobbled bedrock and you'll find a 3x1x3 block of pure netherite. These grand structures can be pointed out by a tall-standing purple beacon, visible from quite far away.

Archived starter houses are very common structures, and they should seem quite familiar to you. That's because these are the first houses people build. Doesn't mean this is your house in particular, it's just somebody's house. Could've been your friend's house, could've even been Dream's first house.

The Archived Reaper

Archived reapers are mobs that spawn in Maws of the Archives. They protect these palaces, and they won't give you a warm welcome whatsoever. Hurting them will make them try to guilt trip you with their small cries into letting them live. But don't be fooled, show no mercy. They will tear you apart. Killing them will drop concentrated souls, the combined ball of souls of those who have been killed by them. What do they do? Nothing, as of now.

The Ender Core

The Ender Core is the item that allows you to light the way to the Archives. Craft it with a ton of late-game items, and light the Ancient City portal.
