I have some boots that give me potion effects but they stay on even after I take off of my boots.
Make the number not last forever put 5 seconds and not infinate because that will stay on forever when you make it 5 it will go away in 1 second. Hope this helped! :)
Set the time on it to 0
For some reason that dosen't happen for me. I never stays on after taking it off.
Potion effects events for armors simply give you a potion effect every tick. So the effect time isn't used when wearing the armor, but after unequiping it
