Yes, I was inspired by that :)
Anyway, just make a global world variable (for example hardcore) (that is false by default) and make something that disables it.
To make a mob not spawn until the variable is true:
If NOT (the global variable)
If (get entity y) > -1
Teleport entity to - 1
This way, if the global variable is not yet enabled, the mob will be teleported to the void so it won't leave drops.
PS: I added the redstone lantern in the last update of Hodge-Podge :)

A patch for the Easy Ores module was released, before this patch the Enderpearl ore was not generating!

Yes, I know that the jungle actually has a lot more features than the other biomes, but I wanted to release this module first XD

I decided the Caves module update won't be a big update. Instead, it will only fix a few bugs and add a Glowing Crystal Lamp.
This means it will be released in a few minutes and that the Hodge-Podge update will be released this week too
An update for the Caves module is coming soon :)
It will add many new dungeons and monsters (no dragons, sorry).
I like doing cyclic updates. RaolCraft was updated first, with the introduction of the Original World's blocks and Superior Wands, then Hodge-Podge got a new version too, which added the Collector and the crossover stuff, Pyromancy was later updated with new utilities for mob grinders and now it's finally time for Modular Expansion.
Releasing updates this way is good because the pauses between each versions give me more ideas :)
Anyway, these will be the last cyclic updates.
After this Modular Expansion update, there will be another RaolCraft Omega update, then the cycle will end. And a long list of Hodge-Podge III updates will begin.
Why?
Because I want to add the features from Hodge-Podge II as soon as possible, and to do so I must focus on it just like I did with RaolCraft the last years. When all the missing dimensions will be added, the mod will finally be in beta and be fully playable.
Don't worry: after the age of Hodge-Podge updates, each of my mods will receive a huge update, and, after this, cyclic updates will be back :)
And it won't really last long. If I add a dimension in each update, it will be made of just 4 or 5 updates.
After the alpha phase of Hodge-Podge will be over, I will have more freedom on what to add there and I will also start to fuse the lore from RaolCraft and the one from Hodge-Podge (actually, they already belong to the same universe because of the crossover update).
Actually, there also is another reason for this.
I want all my mods to be in a stable state because... *drumroll*... I want to release new mods! I've already mentioned one of them, the futuristic one, but the other one is still a secret... :)

Actually, if MCreator 1.9.1 gets released in the Hodge-Podge age, I will stop for a moment and update RaolCraft just for the ore dictionary :P

Will it be a remake?
I plan to release 2 new mods (they aren't remakes of other older ones).
The first one will be a crazy sci-fi mod about space, moon, alien, genetics, antimatter, alternative antimatter universes, time travel, lasers and more (yes, anything sci-fi I can come up with XD). This mod will have a lore, which will be integrated with the one from RaolCraft and Hodge-Podge. And yes, there will be some big bad bosses here too. I still have to think of its name.
The second one (actually I'm not sure about when will I release it because it depends on MCreator updates) is a secret. It will be littler than Pyromancy. If I tell you its name you might guess its theme XD
My current mods (RaolCraft, Hodge-Podge, Pyromancy and Modular Expansion) will still be updated and be compatible with the new mods. I don't like abandoning mods (unless I'm forced to).
