Help with GUI

I'm creating a baking which will add a better and more realistic baking system to minecraft. I'm trying to make a gui that when wheat is placed in it, a procedure will run that checks if it's wheat. If true, then in an output slot, you will get flour. However, nothing seems to happen. Any help with what I can do. Thanks in advance!
