Pisciculture - the process of growing fish - is the base of this proof of concept mod. Find wild fish eggs and hatch them to begin cross-breeding and collect all 62 species of resource salmon! They possess unique stats which affect resource production and fertility, and these stats can also be cross-bred in order to maximize yield.
To begin, you will find sparse piles of wild fish eggs within bodies of water
Find these to obtain your first resource salmon eggs!
Once your salmon has hatched you can pick them up and place them back down at your own discretion. A Salmalyzer will aid you in viewing the stats of your salmon! Simply right click on any resource salmon with the Salmalyzer in your hand.
You will notice that after a few minutes, your salmon will shed some of their scales!
Run the scales through the Extractor to collect various resources! There is a common, uncommon, and rare output item for each type of scale, with rarer salmon producing rarer resources.
Using the Piscary, cross-breed your resource salmon to obtain rarer species or breed the same type of resource salmon to obtain more salmon of that type. The fertility stat determines how many offspring a single salmon can produce until they inevitably perish (painlessly, I promise). The stats of the parent salmon also influence the stats of the child!
This mod is a proof of concept using the entity model layer and item state features that were recently added, in addition to dynamic GUI elements. For now this is mostly feature complete with placeholder textures and I may come back to this in the future to flesh it out, however currently I am extremely busy and also have other ideas I would like to explore.
