Orevolution focuses on making minecraft's ores and overall mining better by bringing new content and QoL. Keep in mind, this mod is still being developed and bugs may occur, so please report any problems at my curseforge page.

orevolution's support for 1.21.4 has now been dropped due to the difference in code between 1.20.1 and 1.21.4

So, here's some of the most important features this mod adds:

(If you see a ⚙, then that means you can enable/disable that feature)

(If you see a ❗, then that means that feature will probably change)

(⚙) New ores:

  • Tin ore: The first ore, Tin, is stronger than stone, but weaker than iron. Tin tools have a chance to duplicate any block drops. This chance can variate depending on some factors, but the highest and lowest chances are of 40% (for blocks like stone and others) and 1% (for blocks like iron blocks and others).

tin example

  • Platinum ore: The second ore, Platinum, is stronger than iron, but weaker than diamond. Platinum tools cause weakness and poison to undead mobs

platinum example

  • Tungsten ore: The third ore, Tungsten, isn't tiered. Tungsten's primary function is to "upgrade" or "reinforce" already existing items. Currently, it can only be applied on netherite armor, shields and anvils.

tungsten example

  • Aethersteel: The last ore, Aethersteel, stronger than netherite. Aethersteel tools (excluding sword) have a 3% chance to duplicate all blocks, with no exceptions. Aethersteel sword causes Crushed Armor II, slowness and weakness. Aethersteel armor grants Fire resistance, strenght, health boost II and step assist II.

  • Bonus: Experience ores are found on the end and the nether, these won't drop anything other than experience.

 Smithing Templates:

  • Basic template: Used for basic alloys, mainly steel and tumbaga. Obtained by crafting.
  • Tungsten template: Used to upgrade items to their tungsten variant. Obtained by bartering with piglins

(⚙) New ore progression: This changes the way ore progression works: Ore progress

(❗ [For new ores] - ⚙) Plant ores: Unlike the main ores, these ores are obtained by farming, which means that instead of having to find an ore, you'll need to meet a special requirement in your farmland to obtain a plant ore seed.

  • Livingstone: The stone equivalent of plant ores. Obtained when wheat is planted in a farmland block above stone. Grants passive mending, as well as a new early game armor

livingstone example

  • Verdite ore: The iron equivalent of plant ores. Obtained when composting if the player already obtained livingstone before. Grants passive regeneration and tools cause poison on hit. It also has a special food, Verdite apple, which grants stronger effects than the golden apple, but for shorter time

verdite example

(⚙) Tools and armors powers: Adds "powers" to tools and armors, for example, iron armor has increased sweeping damage, and diamond tools cause more crit damage to undead mobs

(❗ [For balance]) Alloys: These are made similar to netherite ingots, no special furnace is required to make alloys. These tipically have a special tool/item that has unique effects.

  • Bronze: The first alloy, Bronze, made out of tin and copper. Bronze can be used to make crowns. Crowns can be upgraded with redstone, lapis, emeralds and diamonds, each granting a different effect.

bronze example

  • Steel: The second alloy, Steel, made out of coal, iron and blaze powder. Steel tools are capable of mining a 3x3 area, and cause Crushed Armor on hit

steel example

  • Tumbaga: The last alloy, Tumbaga, made out of copper and gold. Tumbaga tools are stronger and slower versions of gold tools.

(❗ [Better compatibility] - ⚙) Harvest Level tooltip: Adds a new tooltip for every tool, which tells you what ore can that specific tool harvest.

You can also use resource packs to edit already existing tier names or add more for other modded tiers using lang files :]

(⚙) Can't harvest text: Warns the player if they can't harvest that block/ore yet.

can't harvest text example

Buit-in resource packs: Disabled by default. changes vanilla items (more specifically, tools and ingots) to make them have orevolution's style

More content will be added in the future.

I don't understand why everyone liked this mod! It adds several new ores and tools. And that's it? Damn it... There are hundreds and thousands of similar mods on CurseForge, MCreator! But I want to say that the textures are beautiful!

my friend made a showcase video of the mod btw
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uPeXc15LRQ

That's how mod description page should look. Take notes.

Congratulations for winning Mod of the Week :)

Your mod was also promoted on our official subreddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/MCreator/) and Twitter page (https://twitter.com/PyloDEV).

The concept is a breath of fresh air and the execution top notch so I thought it was worth featuring :)

I don't want to feature dimension/dungeon and huge content mods every week. Given your past track record on updating mods, I don't think this one is a "dead end" either.

yummy yummy textures, creative functionality, good take on the typical ore mod
