For those who love mining, and even for those who don’t!
Orevolution focuses on making minecraft's ores and overall mining better by bringing new content and QoL. Keep in mind, this mod is still being developed and bugs may occur, so please report any problems at my curseforge page.
So, here's some of the most important features this mod adds:
(If you see a ⚙, then that means you can enable/disable that feature)
(If you see a ❗, then that means that feature will probably change)
(❗ [For balance and/or more ores] - ⚙) New ores:
- Tin ore: The first modded ore you'll be able to get. This ore's tools have the special property of having a 10% change to increase block drops, which means if you harvest 1 iron ore, then you'll have a 1/10 chance to get another raw iron
- Platinum ore: This ore's tools have the ability to cause 35% of your targets defense value in damage, which means if you hit a mob with a defense value of 100, you'll deal 35 extra damage (excluding the actual damage from the tool and other things that may increase or decrease the total damage amount).
- Tungsten ore: This ore doesn't have tools nor it's own armor, instead, it's used to make tungsten plaques that can be used to upgrade netherite armor into a reinforced netherite armor.
(⚙) New ore progression: This changes the way ore progression works:
(❗ [For new ores] - ⚙) Plant ores: Unlike the main ores, these ores are obtained by farming, which means that instead of having to find an ore, you'll need to meet a special requirement in your farmland to obtain a plant ore seed.
- Livingstone: The stone equivalent of plant ores. Obtained when wheat is planted in a farmland block above stone. Grants passive mending, as well as a new early game armor
- Verdite ore: The iron equivalent of plant ores. Obtained when composting if the player already obtained livingstone before. Grants passive regeneration and tools cause poison on hit. It also has a special food, Verdite apple, which grants stronger effects than the golden apple, but for shorter time
(❗ [For balance]) Alloys: These are made similar to netherite ingots, no special furnace is required to make alloys. These tipically have a special tool/item that has unique effects.
- Bronze: An alloy made out of tin and copper, can be turned into bronze crowns, that can then be upgraded into crowns that grant effects:
- Steel: An alloy made out of iron and coal, can be turned into a steel hammer, a steel digger and a steel greatsword. all of these cause "bleeding" on hit and break a 3x3 area (only if the tool you're using can harvest those blocks)
- Tumbaga: An alloy made out of copper and gold, can be turned into tumbaga tools which are slower than gold but stronger, and can also be turned into a tumbaga chisel, which when held grants haste.
(❗ [Better compatibility] - ⚙) Harvest Level tooltip: Adds a new tooltip for every tool, which tells you what ore can that specific tool harvest.
(⚙) Can't harvest text: Warns the player if they can't harvest that block/ore yet.

How'd you make the tin ability? I want to make a similar ability for something else and it'd be great if I had a bit of a hint
