A magic mod that focuses on the power of runestones, and a unique crafting system to turn them into useful and highly varied items.
Features include:
Seven different craftable runestones.
A unique in-world crafting mechanic using runestones and a runesmith's hammer for some... explosive results.
Currently a total of thirty-one different useful items, each made by combining two or more different runestones.
In-game tooltips to explain how to use the various items.
An advancement tree to help provide a walkthrough of the mod's core features, as well as some hints towards a few of the more useful items you can craft with the runesmithing system.
The Aggressive Magic Combat gamerule to determine whether or not magic weapons will target players, pets, and team members.
To use the runestone crafting system:
First, craft the runestones you want to use, as well as a runesmith's hammer.
Second, drop the runestones on the ground in the wilderness, or on the floor of a fortified location.
Third, stand back and use the hammer while looking at the runestones.
Fourth, pick up your new item (if you used a valid recipe) and maybe eat some food to heal...
Note, currently every different combination of two runes is a valid recipe, in addition, there are a few recipes that use more than two runes, but although they are more powerful, they may require a bit more trial and error to discover.
Quick Start Guide:
First, start playing your world as usual.
Second, gather up some lapis lazuli and smelt some cobblestone, craft the stone into slabs, and use the stone slabs and lapis lazuli to make some blank runestones, you will want quite a few of these.
Third, craft one blank runestone into a Runesmith's Hammer, this is needed in order to work with any of the different runestones.
Fourth, craft the rest of your blank runestones into different types of runes using different resources. Here is a summary of the different runes, to help you decide what runestone types to work towards: Arcana is a pretty good starter runestone, although a little expensive early-game. Flame is good for combat, but needs nether-based resources to craft. Mechanical is used for quite a few automation-based items, but it needs a redstone comparator, which requires nether quartz. Nature is really helpful and gives access to some healing items, but it needs torchflowers, which means getting into archaeology for sniffers. Sea has a handful of useful items that it can make, but it needs prismarine crystals. Soul has a lot of powerful items, but it needs sculk-based and nether-based items, and most items made with soul runestones are fueled by experience. Lightning has a lot of big and flashy items linked to it, but it needs a lot of gold, and a little bit of glowstone dust, which means either going to the nether, or hunting witches.
Fifth, once you have two different runestones, drop them on the ground outside your base and click them with the runesmith's hammer, it will cause an explosion and convert the runes into a new item.
Sixth, keep experimenting to see what items you can create, every possible combination of two different runes will give you a different item, and some combinations of three runes will as well. However, if a combination doesn't create an item, it will still consume the runes and cause an explosion.
One final note, the more different runes you try to put into one runesmithing recipe, the larger the explosion will be, so be careful when making complex recipes.
