 Tickrate Control Block

This is a very simple mod I put together to solve something Mojang made unnecessarily difficult: you can’t use command blocks in singleplayer to adjust tick speed.

With this mod, you get a block that increases the tickrate to 40 when powered. That’s it. No complicated configs or commands — just place, power, and go.

Why make this mod?

  • Mojang doesn’t allow command blocks in singleplayer to change tickrate.
  • Sure, you can use gamerule randomTickSpeed, but that only affects random block updates (like crop growth or leaf decay). It does not affect piston or redstone tick speed — only this mod changes the actual game tickrate.
  • For map makers, adventure creators, or anyone experimenting, having a temporary tickrate boost is super useful.
  • It’s simple and lightweight — no fluff, just does the job.

Use Cases:

  • Map makers who want smoother or faster sequences.
  • Players who need a short tickrate boost without digging through commands.
  • Quick testing environments.

Planned Updates:

  • Right now, the block is set to bump you to 40 ticks.
  • If anyone needs higher (or different) speeds, leave a comment! I’ll gladly add more variants with unique textures.

Access:

  • The block is found under the Operator tab in creative inventory (controls must have operator enabled).

Maintenance:
I’ll keep this mod updated as long as MCreator keeps supporting updates.
