The Gelida [1.15.2] Guide, Suggestions
Mon, 06/08/2020 - 02:42 (edited)

Note: There will not be a 1.14.4 version. Only 1.15.2 and 1.16 whenever it releases.

The Gelida is a mysterious dimension that takes place 10,000 years after an alternate overworld entered a permanent ice age.

Backstory of the dimension:

Before the ice age, the dimension was ruled by a king with great power. He cared for all of his citizens and the world around them. That was, until the ice age came after excavation of a...nuclear? iceberg caused it to explode, as it flooded the lower parts of the world, covered everything in thin sheets of snow, turned the trees into nearly pure ice, and froze nearly every remaining member of society in time where they thawed out as dead zombies. Later on, the king had fallen to the ice age and sent the remaining life to survive on its own. Which didnt go too well as the remaining life died.

How to get to the dimension:

It's now 10,000 years after all the radioactive ice age stuff went down. You hear about this land, and you wish to explore it for yourself. So here is how to get to the dimension.

To make the portal, you must use at least 10 glazed ice blocks. Which are crafted by surrounding a diamond with 8 ice blocks. To ignite it, you must make an ancient frigid feather with a snowball and a feather.

The dimension itself:

You spawn into the dimension and you see some terrain around you like normal, but its different like every dimension you enter. You also see different environments that seem different from the overworld. What are they? Well, here are all of them.

Frigid Chunk Plains:

A normal plains like biome with icebergs and ice spikes scattered around it. You may also find fortresses and houses here.

Frigid Sea:

An ocean biome with no life whatsoever and is basically just a giant lake. But even then, lakes usually have more stuff than the frigid sea.

Flake Gardens:

The remnants of a forest that contains trees entirely frozen in time (btw the wood it uses is actually an entire wood type excluding doors, trapdoors, boats, and fence gates, Which will instead create spruce versions of them) Can also spawn fortresses and houses. Also includes frozen grass and ice flowers. Also spawns a lot of lakes

Frosted Cliffs:

Something about these alp like mountains is strange despite being entirely normal.

Deserted Tundra:

A complete wasteland made of what is apparently frozen gravel.

Those are all the environments you might see around you, but what is underneath the environments themselves?

The ores:

Opal - An ore with similar strength to that of an iron-diamond hybrid.

Pyrite - An ore that specializes in attack speed. Absolutely fails in everything else

Ice Shards - Less of an ore but is commonly found throughout the dimension in the form of Fragile Ice and Crystalized Ice ore. Can make pretty decent starting armor and tools, but if you have literally anything above stone tools, then forget using them.

Structures:

Ice Chamber: A gelida version of the overworld dungeons, which can also spawn in this dimension.

Ice Dungeon: A room with a hallway leading to it. Contains 2 chests and a stray spawner.

So that is whats underneath the ground, but what about food? How do you get food? Luckily for you, crops are not uncommon whatsoever. Just do some mining or exploring to find structures! But wait, what about the things that can harm you?

The enemies:

Frigid Zombie - A frozen zombie with leather armor, a stone sword, and a compass. Will spawn commonly depending on where you explore and will also be in every house you find.

Chill Spider - An ice spider. The name is actually a joke, because it might make some people consider the mob as chlll and harmless, only to get murdered.

Frigid Soldier - A frigid zombie with opal gear and a shield.

The Frigid Lord - The king that used to rule over the land. Wears a ripped cloak and has a broken crown. Can not spawn normally. Comes equipped with the finest of armor, finest of gear, and is also hard to kill. Can only be spawned by using a recipe to craft his spirit box. You may get a charm if you kill him.

So, you've basically learned all you need to know about the dimension now, haven't you? Even though you've probably skipped the entire guide. Anyways, so thats everything really. If you want to correct or suggest something for the mod, just comment below i guess.

Alright, so nobody will care, but ive decided to cancel the entire mods future development in favor of an entire remake that will come in suit once I learn more about mcreator and how to use it properly. So until then, there will be no gelida
