The Ultimate Plan Official Topic

This is the official topic for the Ultimate Plan mod! Here you can discuss, report bugs, post screenshots, write opinions and suggestions or anything related to the mod! Feel free to leave a comment! :D

OLD STUFF: PLEASE IGNORE THIS, IT IS OUTDATED

Some time ago, I said I was going to release two new mods - a huge sci-fi mod and a littler one named The Ultimate Plan.

The Ultimate Plan is a little mod that makes you able to tame baby Enderdragons. It is inspired on something that Mojang once mentioned, but later scrapped: they said they were going to have an "Ultimate Plan" for the End which involved Endermites. However, after many years, those little mobs are still useless.

This mod tries to give a use to both the Dragon Egg and Endermites.

I wanted to release the mod today, but it wasn't ready.

I wasn't able to make the Enderdragon properly rideable. I tried making it attack monsters but it felt too weak and it often flied away.

From a comment I posted on the "Hodge-Podge age etc..." topic:

Sad news: the Ultimate Plan isn't going to be released.

Everything was ready: the egg, the progression, the baby enderdragon model... There's just one issue: it is bugged.

I initially planned to make the baby dragon rideable; however, you can't control well flying mobs. So I tried making the dragon attack monsters; but it often randomly flies away and I can't make it follow you. This isn't a major issue if you keep the dragon guarding a house, but you can't travel with the dragon as you can do with wolves if it flies away... This makes hatching the dragon kinda useless.

I don't want to release bugged mods, they would be useless (the dragon isn't a secondary feature, it's the whole mod)

It's a shame because I added many features (fertilized endstone, special end crops, dragon egg hatching animation, a special way to get new eggs...) and planned many things (spears and bows that get stronger while riding a dragon, special food to heal dragons...)... :(

I copied and pasted it because I'm too lazy to sum it up XD

So, until flying mobs will be improved, the mod won't be released.

I created this page for any of you who want to download the mod anyway. Here is the link:

1.0.2 (now the Baby Enderdragon also attacks Illagers, Husks and Strays): https://www.mediafire.com/file/vvxcfbmshp1r4ll/The_Ultimate_Plan_1.0.2_%28early_alpha%29__for_Minecraft_1.12.2.jar/file

1.0.1 (fixed a bug with crops opacity): http://www.mediafire.com/file/jwqejo2amqbsvfd/The_Ultimate_Plan_1.0.1_%2528early_alpha%2529__for_Minecraft_1.12.2.jar/file

Even if the mod is not officially released, you can't repost it or claim you made it. Feedback is welcome though.

When the mod will be fully released, this topic will be its normal discussion topic :)

Anyway, before downloading the mod, you'll need a guide! Here is it (images will soon be added):

To tame your own Baby Dragon, you'll have to defeat the normal Enderdragon first.

Then, you can craft some Fertilized Endstone by surrounding Endstone with Popped Chorus in a Crafting Table.

You can now plan some regular Seeds on Fertilized Endstone to get a new kind of plant.

ender crops

After they are fully grown (it takes a lot of time), the crops should look like this:

crops final

You can harvest them to get some Enderwheat (name to change). Then, you can use 9 Enderwheat to make an Enderwheat Block. Combine 3 of these and the Dragon Egg to make a Dragon Nest.

dragon nest

Now, place the Dragon Nest and wait. It should take a bit to hatch the egg, but you should notice it slowly changes texture. Before it hatches, you can destroy the Dragon Nest to get the both the Dragon Egg and the Enderwheat Blocks back in any moment.

dragon nest 2

When the egg hatches, a Baby Enderdragon will be born. As you already know, you can't ride it (yet). Right now, it does just attack vanilla Undeads, Arthropods (all of them but Endermites), Slimes, Magma Cubes, Illagers and Creepers.

babydragon

Now you might be asking what happens if the dragon dies. Would you have lost the egg and its dragon forever?

Not really.

Remember the Dragon Nest (I hope you didn't throw it in the lava)? After it hatched, only a few fragments are remaining from the original egg. However, you can make a new egg.

broken dragon nest

And that's where the Endermite comes in. If an Endermite collides with the egg, it will infect it and create a new Dragon Nest. You can wait to have another Baby Enderdragon, or you can break the nest to get the egg back!

If you found any bugs or have any ideas or opinions, comments are welcome! :D

But not all monsters are aggressive towards the player... For example, Fiery Imps, Spectral Crystal Golems and even other Baby Enderdragons are considered monsters...

In what program you made the baby enderdragon model? It doesn't look like Techne or Tabula.

@crispy_chips

I think mobs are all kind of living entities (creatures, monsters, ambient, etc.), while monsters only are the ones that can't make you sleep during the night if they are near

And I had to set all the custom neutral/utility mobs to monsters because I doubt they would attack if they were considered creatures

Something went wrong... XD

enderdragons

I summoned a baby enderdragon and was wondering why wasn't it attacking monsters... Then I summoned another one and it seemed to ignore the monsters too, until it slowly directed to the other enderdragon and started to attack it...

This is weird... XD
