MCreator is a big success in Minecraft's modding community. During the last 5 years of its existence, MCreator has changed a lot, ranging from adding various mod types and options to improve them by adding events, custom drops, emitting particles, shooting arrows and much more. As the MCreator developed, there have been many changes that changed the way MCreator worked and the way you interacted with it. Many of the things were inspired by you, the community.

Last month, we updated the website, the new home of MCreator and we did that for a reason. With that done, we are happy to announce you the plans for MCreator 2. It will come with a whole new user interface and fix many bugs that came with the current version. This version doesn't exist yet, so we want to give you the word, by allowing you to shape the new MCreator in the way you would like it to be.

This forum topic is for you to discuss developer's ideas and suggestions for the new MCreator 2. We are going to be taking the ideas on other forum topics and let you discuss them.

Notice: MCreator 2 is just a concept at this moment. There is no release date yet, nor release date timeframe.

It would be grat if in MCreator 2 we can make a block with a gui like a Crafting Table or a Fournace, or maybe a block like chests, ender chests and Shulker Boxs. Another interesting feature could be custom armor model and custom portal shapes. I also would like to see in MCreator 2 the possibility to add a dungeon with more schematics like Stronghold or End-City or the Mansion. In the end i would see an improvement of keybinds and events

I think another good addition would to be able to make GUIs that could have randomly generated loot in them (like naturally spawning chests) that would be configurable easier to do (not requiring coding skill). This would make custom, naturally spawning inventories with customized loot easier to make. Thanks!

make the recipe maker detect input and output slots in a custom gui so you can use it for crafting if you want

A better "Smart Crafting" would be nice, since if you make a recipe, and then make a new recipe that is the same as the first except that the ingredients are opposite locations on the crafting table, the first recipe will give you it's output in the second recipe.

Ok, i know i've already suggested, but i sincerely need better mobs, so here are more suggestions:

-Baby animals. When you breed two animals, a baby would come out, and then it would grow. I'm not saying anything, but the code is kinda already in minecraft. But hey, i can't code a single thing, nor i understand anything.

-Making mobs breed with other, different mobs. Just like male and females mobs can breed to make a baby. Take as an example Bulls and Cows in real life.

-Water Mob that ACTUALLY BREATHE UNDERWATER. I don't know if it's a bug, but when i select both WaterMob as a type, WaterCreature as "if the mob is passive or not" (i mean the part under the mob name) and Squid AI, it won't breathe and swim. Again, i don't know if it's a bug or not, but if it is a bug, can you please fix it?

-Better Flying Mobs. With this i mean two things: The possibility to make a mob fly only in certain conditions, maybe if the player is near them, and with two different and indipendent models, one that's not flying and one that is, each one with his own animations, AND the possibility to give the mob an actual AI, for example to make it swoop down to attack like the Phantoms in 1.13

-Making a mob both rideable and steerable

-Pets. Just Pets. And YES, i know the wolf/Cat ai exist, but i don't want a sloth to eat bones or fishes to get petted and to attack sheeps or scare creepers.

Mcreator is the best friggen minecraft moding software out there. However, in certain spots it is weak...

.

1): It would be great to have WOLF models as well as HORSES by default.

2): A crafting option to allow crafting without bench (4 slots) without checking the Shapeless Option.

3): More in-depth Gun Mod Type options. (etc. Cooldown,)

4): More Ore Generation options for the Block Mod Type (etc. Coal/Iron/Gold/Diamond Generation Presets)

5): Better GUI editor

6): The ability to edit events without having to delete them and start again from scratch.

7): More Event Types (etc. 'When Right Clicked Anywhere' for Item Mod Type or 'When Player First Joins' Global Event)

8): More Support for Custom Models

9): Different Mob Types that are not broken.

10): Better Variables and a new HUD Icon Mod Type such as hearts or hunger bars. (I know there is the Overlay Mod Type but it would be easier to just make a preset so all you had to do was tweek parameters and make an icon for the bar.)

Okay. Here are my suggestions:

  • Custom ambient music in custom biomes/dimensions. (An example can be Conkdor Canyon from Super Mario 3D World playing while you are in a custom desert biome. No copyright infridgement intended.)
  • Anvil-made recipes (An example could be Gold Sword + Cursed Tome of Resistance = Gold Sword with better stats)
  • Being able to put the player on fire/custom fire (An example being a player stepping on Alien Toxine gets some sort of toxic fire)
  • Being able to change the Enchantment Level of a block (bookshelves have 1.0 points of enchantment level, which tweaks the enchantment table.)
  • Being able to modify Vanilla Minecraft elements (Example being Chisel modifying concrete blocks so the player runs faster when stepping on them.)
  • Making OptiFine run in the client test environment.
  • Setting up Ore Dictionary.
  • Lores for most elements (not just items)
  • Dyable items.
  • Custom Elytra-like items.
  • Custom boss healthbars (instead of just choosing a different colour, but also being able to change the healthbar's texture.)
  • Better multiplayer support.
  • Managing world generation.
  • Trident-like items (from the Update Aquatic snapshots)
  • Pillar-like blocks (without using spare blocks or CTM)
  • More models.
  • Survival inventory tabs (example a tab that has an accessory slot that you can put rings or necklaces on it and other stuff, like in Tinkers' Construct)
  • Making mod elements unobtainable using Creative Mode or its search menu.
  • Making a fire block or another item ignite a portal.
  • Other portal types, such as End Portals.
  • Custom mob A.I.
  • Map to see where to put the achievement.
  • An option to make a block if it can be pushed by pistons or not.
  • Option to make a block immune to the Ender Dragon, Wither and other mobs.
  • Compability with other versions, such as 1.8.9, 1.6.4, etc.
  • TNT blocks that work exactly like the Vanilla counterpart.
  • Custom names for custom biomes for the debug info to say instead of the the biome's ID name.
  • Running test environment using the player's Minecraft account instead of a username like Player(000 to 999) unless they are cracked.
  • Use MrCrayfish's Model Creator as an alternative for BDCubik Lite/Pro.
  • An internal converter from IRL seconds to fuel ticks (Minecraft runs 20 ticks per second)
  • Adding more recipes to an element instead of making multiple recipe elements.
  • Custom death messages.

And way more. And I agree with everyone's suggestions here.
