Topic category: Feature requests and ideas for MCreator
MCreator is a big success in Minecraft's modding community. During the last 5 years of its existence, MCreator has changed a lot, ranging from adding various mod types and options to improve them by adding events, custom drops, emitting particles, shooting arrows and much more. As the MCreator developed, there have been many changes that changed the way MCreator worked and the way you interacted with it. Many of the things were inspired by you, the community.
Last month, we updated the website, the new home of MCreator and we did that for a reason. With that done, we are happy to announce you the plans for MCreator 2. It will come with a whole new user interface and fix many bugs that came with the current version. This version doesn't exist yet, so we want to give you the word, by allowing you to shape the new MCreator in the way you would like it to be.
This forum topic is for you to discuss developer's ideas and suggestions for the new MCreator 2. We are going to be taking the ideas on other forum topics and let you discuss them.
Notice: MCreator 2 is just a concept at this moment. There is no release date yet, nor release date timeframe.

to make life easier for all the beginner modelers who still use techne and have models as .java, could you please add back .java for block models again, not saying remove obj or .json but .java models are simple and made things simple when I was making mods, ever since the option for the block model to be .java was removed I haven't been able to make one single mod because all my models are .java as I tried moving onto block bench and other programs but they never work for me and it always misrenders my models size and never renders the texture as so far its been a pain for me and lot of my freinds as we have techne models for .java, could you guys consider adding back .java models for blocks again as you kept .java models for mobs why not readd .java models for blocks again
I think that java models for blocks are not possible in 1.12.2, the function has changed
I cannot imagine what Mc v2 will look like... but this is amazing

Here are my ideas for MCreator 2.0:

could you add a "delay" block i know that that is hard but it can be done seen as there are delays in vanilla minecraft, PLEASE I REALY NEED THIS!!!!!!!!
diamondcarrot, you can already do this. There are many forum topics and YouTube tutorials for this.
I'd like to see a more dynamic UI. I want to be able to drag the mod elements around to rearranged them and place them in folders or use the search bar with filters. I'd like a more user-friendly, quality of life centered UI that would be fast to develop with.
yes please I think that would be great, what if you could activate portals with things like leaves?
Villages aren't full schematics or structures, they are separated and with the omghardcode thingie, they made it so the village was connected, because, all houses have different rotations. Sometimes they spawn in the same rotation, but that's just rare.
