Vanilla Reworked is a mod that reworks the game's progression in the most vanilla-friendly way possible.
Many people are probably tired of the same old thing: wood, stone, iron, diamonds, the Nether, the End, and that's it.
There's no variation, no new features, nothing to make you explore more of the game's content. This is because many things in the game are either completely optional or not necessary to progress.
In my opinion, you progress too quickly in this game; you barely have time to break any of your early-game tools because you replace them immediately. Think about it: how long does it usually take you to get iron armor? Have you even considered getting leather armor before? Well, no, because leather is awful and objectively harder to obtain than iron.
Well, with this mod I'm trying to fix this: to slow you down and encourage you to explore more of what this game has to offer, by adding new tiers of armor and tools, delaying the jump to other sets, and giving new life to things that are often considered useless or irrelevant.
The mod is still under development and is not yet finished, so any suggestions or constructive criticism are very helpful.
I'm going to divide the mod review into 3 stages: Early-game, Mid-game, and End-game.
Early-game
The progression changes quite a bit at this stage. It starts normally, chopping down trees and crafting wooden tools, but now you need stone instead of cobblestone to craft stone tools, which means you must build a furnace earlier.
Later, you'll realize that the Stone Pickaxe can't mine iron. This is because of the vanilla copper set, a new tier between stone and iron. The Copper Pickaxe is essential for progression, as it can mine iron.
Soon after, you'll realize that iron is burned in nuggets, not ingots. This was done to make it take longer to obtain iron. What you need to do is burn 20 raw iron ore and convert it into 5 ingots. With these ingots, you can build a Blast Furnace and extract iron ingots again.
Mid-game
When you have all the iron gear, you can consider yourself to have reached the mid-game. From here you have several options.
Diamond is not currently an option, as its recipe has been modified to be post-Nether Fortress. In this case, you have access to reinforced gold tools, which retain all the benefits of gold but with the power of iron. You also have access to Beewax Armor, that grants regeneration, coralite, a new material made from coral, copper, and saltpeter, a new mineral added by the mod, or Titanium, a strong material found only in cold biomes.

You could ignore all of this and stick with the iron one, but if you do, you'll miss the opportunity to upgrade both of them in the future. The choice is yours.
That said, since you don't have access to diamonds yet, you can create obsidian blocks with lava buckets and water in the crafting interface, make the portal, and go to the Nether. In the nether, you can encounter Nether Rubys, an alternative to Diamonds found only in The Nether.
Once you've explored a fortress and have enough blaze rods, you'll gain access to the Diamond and Nether Ruby set. With that, you should be ready to explore the world in search of more materials to reach the End.

End-game
The mod modifies the Eye of Ender recipe; to create them, in addition to ender pearls and blaze powder, you need Echo Shards, Prismarine Shards and Wind Charges. That means you must explore a deep dark biome, search for an ocean temple and beat a trial chamber in your world.
With all this, you go to the End and defeat the dragon. This grants you access to the rest of the End dimension and the End Cities. In the end cities, you can obtain dragon scales, which are vital for crafting all the end-game equipment offered by the mod.
In the End dimension, you can find Stardust, a new ore that let's you to craft ANY enchantment. Including those ho don't appear in the enchantment table. This ore only can be mined with a Diamond Pickaxe or better, Stardust can also be dropped sometimes by Endermans (7%).

From here, progression stops and you can do as you please, such as completing the various advancements the mod adds. Good luck with them—you'll need it!

Other Things
The mod also tries to give utility to mobs and objects that are often considered useless or redundant, such as phantom membranes, nautilus shells, or the sniffer.
It also features cool stuff like the firebound rod, a new fishing rod that has a unique effect when used on the -20 y-axis and below.

There are several things I've left out, but the most important ones have been explained. I'll let you discover the rest on your own and have a different vanilla experience.
The mod features its own texture pack for a better experience. it was created for 1.21.1, but it works fine. You can download it here: https://mega.nz/file/32hXkCCK#EXeuCPGSZHg-sb0M6Vsy-PXcFzJNlvahNE3PCZSOn…
Also, the mod modifies A LOT of vanilla recipes, so I implore you to play it with JEI to avoid confusion/frustration.
The mod is available in US English and Spanish (Spain).
That's all for now, have fun!

Using tags.
I added the blocks that I didn't want the stone pickaxe to be able to mine to `incorrect_for_stone_tool` (which is a vanilla tag, by the way)—specifically, iron ores and their corresponding blocks.
Since the copper pickaxe is a different tool—despite being in the same tier—it isn't affected by that tag, allowing it to mine iron blocks.
Hope it helped you!

How did you change vanilla harvest levels?
