Mod Description
Glowroot is a mod that entirely shapes a new underground cave biome made primarily to provide background of the glow squid, from the 2020 Minecraft mob vote. Based on the uniqueness of the glow squid's properties, an entirely new cave biome, the Glowroot Caves, is added within this mod, to primarily expand upon the lore and backstory behind the glow squid's introduction, and provide a sense of lore to any player's world.

New Cave Biome
The mod introduces one main key factor, the Glowroot Caves! This new bright glowing biome will spawn around the overworld in caves, usually found at lower cave levels. These bright caves will be home to tons of new luminescent plants and flowers, mobs, and a large amount of new technology.

Harnessing the power of light from the trees on the overworld surface, these caves re-use that energy, through roots, to light up and grow the flora of these caves. Old scientists have harnessed that energy to create technological advancements, which you can discover within the caves. You can re-use the power of the glowing flora, through the Glowroot Node, to form rare Chrysoprase crystals. Use these new materials found within the cave to create tons of new rare pieces of technology, to help make mining easier! From mining helmets, flashlights, to even cannons, theres tons of new pieces of equipment to craft that will help make your mining experience easier and efficent. Try to explore the caves, and find all the things you can craft!
New Mobs
The mod introduces a few new additional mobs that can spawn within the biome! They all have unique properties and abilities, with some that can dazzle and blind players, to others that can mine blocks for you!

The mobs and their functions:

The Glowroot Golem is a passive mob, tameable using leaves and petals found within the caves. It's entirely rideable, even without a saddle, and will knock enemies away with its large horns. If you right click with a drill head onto the golem, you can make it mine blocks infront of it while riding!

The Glowroot Zombie is a hostile, common mob, usually seen wandering the caves. They can also naturally occur, when a regular zombie stands too long on glowrooted stone. They inflict dazzling to their enemies, and cause a large blinding explosion once killed. Beware!

The Glowroot Quadcopter is a hostile, flying mob, that is particularly quiet but dangerous. If you get too close, it'll try to hover above you, and release glowbangs above your head. Make sure to bring a bow!
The Glowroot Hermit is a hostile, small critter, that is just as cute as it is deadly. It will attempt to grab you with the claws on its head, as if you were an item. You could try to jam its claws by dropping your own items, but that still won't stop it. If you do get stuck, shift to try and get out!
New Mechanics
Within Glowroot, there are multiple new mechanics that can be created and tooled with within the mod, mainly through the new energy systems and mechanics. Using Chrysoprase, a rare crystal found within the caves made from light, and the natural stone and flora of the cave, you can craft these new items through a process of forging and smelting. You can forge unpure items and blocks to become their purest forms, and use them to create powerful new items, blocks, and other things. Explore the caves and learn the ancient systems, and explore the usefulness of these new mechanics!

- Will you be porting the mod to fabric, or any other versions?
Once the mod is officially complete and there are no more "content updates," I will consider porting the mod to other mod loaders, and along with other versions. Till the day comes.
- I found a bug when playing the mod! Where can I report it?
If you found any bugs within the mod, please feel free to join the discord using the given link on the side. You may join the server and within there, report your bugs. You can also report issues on the github.
- I dont understand how the mod works, is there any wiki or further documentation?

There, you may feel free to ask me any questions you have about how the mod works, or any explanations of features You could also find information on the new content added in each version within the changelogs, along with a brief explanation of how the change/feature works. There is also a new command in 1.0.7, called /glowrootinfo, that gives a short list detailing the mod's content.
- Is there going to be another update with new content? If so, when?
Updates are planned to be released on average every month apart, usually very early. However, as time goes on and the mod eventually does release its more final stages, there isn't going to be many more content additions, and only ports. Leaks and posts for future additional content can be found in the discord server linked in the description.
- Can I use Glowroot in my modpack?
Of course! In fact, I encourage you to do so. There's a rare chance that it could have generational issues with other mods, but more than likely it won't.

**Changelog 1.0.8.7:**
- One year and 1/2 anniversary of Glowroot!
- Finally retextured Glowrooted Stone's top and side textures to look good.
- Changed the ambient biome music to be MUCH QUIETER and also slowed down.
- Any variant of glowroot flora (flowers/grass/plants/and even combined blocks,) that are broken inside of a glowroot cave and planted on a variant of glowroot stone, can eventually re-grow in the same place. There is a new gamerule, Regrowthchance, that determines the actual percent chance of the flora actually being replaced. It is naturally set to 100. Lower values = smaller chances of regrowing.
- Edited the quadcopter's ai to re-target enemies quicker and also have a "warning signal" before attacking.
- Increased quadcopter and glowroot golem spawning.
- Changed tons of mining strengths of blocks (Chrysoprase crystal blocks are now slightly faster to mine, and Glowroot Stone blocks/some ores now only need a stone pickaxe to break, rather than iron for all.)
- Fixed the glowroot golem's drill texture variant to match the new updated textures, along with the glowroot zombie.
- Removed Melted Chrysoprase Buckets from the creative menu, as they are still WIP
- Retextured a few left-over block/item textures.
- Fixed particles when mining certain custom-model blocks.
- Changed the advancement screen background
- Changed a few recipes to be easier for progress.
- Fixed a few issues/minor bugs
Thats perfectly fine, lol. I'm going to be releasing another new update sometime this week that i've been working on for a while, so hopefully you consider trying it out then! Don't feel rushed to, though, I bet that going through the tons of MOTW submissions per week could be exhausting.
