A magic mod that focuses on the power of runestones, and a unique crafting system to turn them into useful and highly varied items.

Features include:

Six different craftable runestones.

A unique in-world crafting mechanic using runestones and a runesmith's hammer for some... explosive results.

Currently a total of twenty different useful items, each made by combining two or more different runestones.

In-game tooltips to explain how to use the various items.

To use the runestone crafting system:

First, craft the runestones you want to use, as well as a runesmith's hammer.

Second, drop the runestones on the ground in the wilderness, or on the floor of a fortified location.

Third, stand back and use the hammer while looking at the runestones.

Fourth, pick up your new item (if you used a valid recipe) and maybe eat some food to heal...

Note, currently every different combination of two runes is a valid recipe, in addition, there are a few recipes that use more than two runes, but although they are more powerful, they may require a bit more trial and error to discover.

Spoilers Ahead:

List of craftable items and what runes are needed to make them:

Spellflame Sword, Arcana + Flame Runes. A sword with similar statistics to iron that inflicts a new debuff when a creature is hit with it, this debuff, spellflame burn, reduces the target's armor for a few seconds, making it useful for PvP.

Strength Stealer, Arcana + Flame + Nature Runes. A sword with similar statistics to iron that has the ability to steal melee attack power from anything you hit with it, weaking it and strengthening yourself temporarily.

Rune Forger, Arcana + Mechanical Runes. A block that allows you to automate the runesmithing process, it will attempt to craft a runesmithing recipe in-world with items above it whenever it receives a redstone pulse. Be warned, it still causes explosions, although the Rune Forger itself is not damaged by them.

Overgrowth Boots, Arcana + Nature Runes. Special boots that will occasionally consume some of their durability to apply a bonemeal effect to blocks that you stand or walk on, they act faster when you are sneaking.

Diver's Shovel, Arcana + Sea Runes. A shovel with similar statistics to iron, but with a water breathing effect similar to the turtle shell, and increased underwater mining speed.

Draining Wand, Arcana + Sea + Soul Runes. A wand that allows you to expend experience to fire multiple projectiles that heal you when they hit something, it has a variable cooldown that is normally short, but occasionally several seconds long.

Essence Stealer, Arcana + Soul Runes. A sword with similar statistics to iron that grants additional experience from monster kills.

Eruption Wand, Flame + Mechanical Runes. A wand that allows you to launch ghast fireballs with a variable cooldown, it has low accuracy, so be careful when and where you use it.

Flameroot Sword, Flame + Mechanical + Nature Runes. A sword with similar statistics to iron that slows and ignites anything hit with it.

Frostblast Wand, Flame + Mechanical + Sea Runes. A wand that allows you to use an area-of-effect cold damage ability.

Flame Pods, Flame + Nature Runes. A magical fruit that restores a large amount of hunger and gives you speed, strength, and haste when eaten.

Frost Crystal, Flame + Sea Runes. An arcane crystal that contains a powerful blizzard inside it, you can release the blizzard by smashing the crystal on a block.

Blazing Wand, Flame + Soul Runes. A wand that allows you to expend experience to launch blaze fireballs, it has a variable cooldown that is normally short, but occasionally several seconds long.

Crumbleweed Seeds, Mechanical + Nature Runes. The seeds for a strange plant that will gradually expand downwards, breaking blocks in its path, and usually sending the blocks back up to the surface, it can be planted on dirt or stone.

Sticky Temporal Gear, Mechanical + Sea Runes. A powerful gear that has a connection to the flow of time, it can be used to temporarily slow the world's tick rate.

Avalanche Wand, Mechanical + Soul Runes. A wand that allows you to expend experience to conjure a line of falling stone projectiles where you are looking.

Vital Pearl, Nature + Sea Runes. A crystalline pearl that holds powerful healing magic, you can use it to regain all missing health.

Totem of Vitality, Nature + Sea + Soul Runes. A placeable totem that gives all nearby players regeneration at the cost of their experience.

Restoration Wand, Nature + Soul Runes. A wand that allows you to expend experience to create a healing aura around yourself.

Breathtaking Wand, Sea + Soul Runes. A wand that allows you to expend experience to create an oxygen-stealing aura around yourself.
