This is the official topic of Hodge-Podge III, the remake of the mod originally made by Eonaut.

Here you can suggest features, say your opinion, see what will be added in the next updates, etc.

If you want, you can choose one of these features to be added in the next update:

  • The Mystical Valley, a remote land where an healing fountain can be found
  • Beans and Golden Beans, which create huge plants
  • A new mob for each Hodge-Podge dimension

Don't worry, I will add all of them very soon anyway, it's just that I want to release 1.8 this week so I want to just add one small bonus feature. And I have many other ideas too :)

Ok, it seems like this evening the Mystical Valley is going to be added XD

(the others will still be implemented in 1.9 or 2.0)

 

@crispy_chips I actually found more Collectors than normal Dark Elves in my survival world, you must be very unlucky :(

Try increasing your render distance or place some torches to the places you've already visited, that could help. The collector's house should look like a tower of dark bricks with a roof of stone brick stairs.

Anyway, in the next update I will also balance mob spawning rates a bit, because Dark Elves are too rare right now XD

Since the Mystical Valley doesn't want to generate, I made the fountain spawn in all biomes (of the Overworld).

It might not look as mythical as initially planned, but this way it would probably be more useful for players.

Right-click the statue at the center to heal yourself a bit. The statue has a cooldown, though.

You can't destroy the statue.

I was initally going to make a "blessing" effect for the cooldown, and after creating it I realized I already had one for the Silver Apple and that they could use the same effect because they are similar. So I basically changed the texture of the Purity effect and reused it for this statue too XD

Sometimes Minecraft is just weird...

And I must admit that the statue kind of looks weird too, I will improve it later

The update is finally released! Here's the changelog:

1.8 - The Halloween Update - 10/31/2019

+Tainted Knight

A flying boss that can be summoned by cutting down a cursed tree in the Murkwoods (Wonderland). Attacks from the distance and has many abilities that match well with his flying behaviour. While he is alive, Azure Haunters will spawn instead of Green Hunters.

+Azure Haunter

A mob that only spawns in the Murkwoods while the Tainted Knight is alive. Attacks from the distance, has 1 point of life but is immune to everything but melee attacks.

+Voodoo Pendent

A rarity dropped by the Tainted Knight

+Kobold

A neutral mob that spawns in caves. Lights up the area with the candle on its head. Drops a candle and leather.

+Candle

A little light source

+Tallow

Used to craft Candles. Dropped by pigs or obtained by smelting their meat.

+Illusioner's Tower

A tower in the Wonderland where an Illusioner can be found

+Illusion Orb

A rarity found in the Illusioner's Tower

+Cursed Diamond

A diamond found as loot that has the same recipes of regular diamonds but disappears after being in the survival inventory for 15 seconds

+Mystical Fountain

A rare structure of the Overworld where a statue that completely heals you can be found. The statue has the same cooldown of the Silver Apple and can't be removed.

+Some kind of Glowing Obsidian stalagmites in the DarkWorld

+A few wip things

~Balanced mob generation in the DarkWorld

~Slightly reduced the Smoldering Knight's attack

~Tweaked a few other stuff

! The Dark Fortress spawned in a weird way

! Fixed many other bugs

I wasn't able to fix the Collector variable bug though...

Anyway, the next update will be a little Pyromancy patch, for the ore dictionary (and a probably bonus feature too XD)

The Collector is still bugged (but I might fix it this week), so I recommend you to not trade with him until the patch. In the while, you could make a second portal where the tower is or a path to the first one. Or you could simply transport the Collector to the Overworld so you will be ready to trade in the next update :)

I plan to release a little patch just to fix the bug with the Collector, but the latest update was released yesterday (and it already fixed most bugs) :)

I will release it this week (maybe even today), if the fix suggested by StellaeLux works

In the patch I will also add the quest for the fiery claws :)
