MCreator 1.9.2 Community Requests

Hi !

First of all, I’m glad to see that almost everyone talk on my Community Requests topic, even the Developers. When I started the first topic to the 1.8.2, I didn’t think that will use by a lot of people and the Developers look the topic to get lot of ideas. The last Community Requests had 144 comments, so just thanks you to take these topics for the "official" topics.

 

The 1.9.1 is finally out, so here we go for a new forum topic !

Post your ideas here for the version 1.9.2, but check on the tracker and the changelog before please !

Ability to make blocks…

Ability to make blocks invisible (i do need this for my mod to make specific triggers invisible in adventure mode).

When using KeyBinds i cannot change the gamemode with F4 (might be a 1.9.1 bug who knows)

Some minor stuff I'd love to see added are:

  • Saturation option for food
  • Blocks that can be broken without tools

SomeoneElse, just set a proper material and you can break your block by hand. The default material is ROCK, but if you want block breakable by hand, set it to something else, say GROUND.

What I mean is blocks such as glass and sponge, where no tool is faster. Currently, you're forced to choose between axe, pickaxe and shovel, so even if the material is GROUND, one of the tools would be faster.

1. Procedures that can pass variables and dependancies

2. Spawn Gem can select how many of that amount. 

(Minecraft has a built in system that groups items on the ground of the same type. 64 items will for example be grouped in a group of 5. The newer Spawn Gem will be able to determine in how big of a group it should spawn the items from 1-5 based on the total amount dropped, instead of dropping them individually with a loop and risking a world crash if they don't pop into a group of 5 quick enough)

PATCH UPDATE 23. 9. 2019, 18:45 CEST

There were some bugs found in MCreator 1.9.1 so we decided to release a patch update. If you are having one of the following bugs and downloaded MCreator before the time of the patch, consider reinstalling version 1.9.1:

  • [Bugfix #53239] Mods did not contain any mod elements if they were located in a path or had a name containing any special character or whitespace
  • [Bugfix] Custom blocks and items had logWood selected for ore dictionary by default
  • Added ore dictionary to plants
  • Added option to disable harvest level specification for blocks

To apply the patch (fix these bugs), uninstall MCreator 1.9.1, download it again and install it again. After reinstalling it, make sure to regenerate code in all the workspaces you already opened with MCreator 1.9.1 by clicking Build & run -> Regenerate code and build.

the "Add to inventory" option, for chests and stuff, this way people could just make a block contain items rather then set them to specific slots. Such as a quarry and stuff like that.

Glad to see some of my requests added! :D
Here's a few more features for which I'll open some tickets eventually:

  • More itemstack procedure stuff:
    • Stack size procedure blocks, such as "Set/get count", "Shrink/grow by amount". Although there's a "Remove item from inventory" block, it doesn't work too well with consumable items (it doesn't always remove from the held stack)
    • The "On block right-clicked" trigger could pass the held itemstack
    • A more generic "Apply cooldown" block that can be applied to any item (e.g. you could make a potion effect that prevents you from drinking milk, or one that prevents you from using items in your second hand)
  • Blocks/Plants that can be bonemealed by implementing the "IGrowable" interface, instead of having to rely on custom coding or global procedures
  • Custom bounding box for plants
  • Option to set the "rarity" of an item/block/plant/food/whatever (used by enchanted apples to have the pink tooltip, or by enchanted items to have the blue one)
  • "Path node type" option for blocks/plants/fluids: with this, mobs will try to avoid spikes and other dangerous blocks
  • "Carpet" and "Glazed Terracotta" TX Blocks (aside from others), which shouldn't require any extreme code or .json files
  • Some way to add .json files, which would be extremely helpful for the "Custom code" element, or for adding blockstates to existing blocks
  • Some more improvements to the texture editor, such as:
    • (rectangular) selections,
    • picked colors being the same between all open files, to make it easier to copy the color from a texture to another
    • being able to edit the properties of animated textures (frame speed, interpolation etc.)
